Anthony Russo’s Movies from Best to Worst – RT Critics

Anthony Russo (born 1970) is an American filmmaker who, together with his brother Joe, is best-known for directing four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films – Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame (2019) – of which Endgame became the highest-grossing film of all time.  The following are 8 of his 9 movies, arranged in order from “best” to “worst” according to the collective opinions of Rotten Tomatoes critics.  (His first film, Pieces (1997), doesn’t have an RT page.)  I’ve previously made a list of Anthony Russo’s Movies from Best to Worst – RT Critics, but it’s now rather out of date.  I’ll keep the old one up for comparison.

94% – 8.24/10 (505 reviews)

Exciting, entertaining, and emotionally impactful, Avengers: Endgame does whatever it takes to deliver a satisfying finale to Marvel’s epic Infinity Saga.

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War (2016)

91% – 7.72/10 (406 reviews)

Captain America: Civil War begins the next wave of Marvel movies with an action-packed superhero blockbuster boasting a decidedly non-cartoonish plot and the courage to explore thought-provoking themes.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

90% – 7.62/10 (295 reviews)

Suspenseful and politically astute, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a superior entry in the Avengers canon and is sure to thrill Marvel diehards.

Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Avengers_Infinity_War_poster

85% – 7.63/10 (456 reviews)

Avengers: Infinity War ably juggles a dizzying array of MCU heroes in the fight against their gravest threat yet, and the result is a thrilling, emotionally resonant blockbuster that (mostly) realizes its gargantuan ambitions.

Welcome to Collinwood (2002)

55% – 5.88/10 (67 reviews)

Contains some funny moments, but it’s still a very lightweight comedy.

21 Bridges (2019)

52% – 5.4/10 (127 reviews)

21 Bridges covers its beat competently enough, but given its impressive cast, this cop thriller should be more arresting than it is.

You, Me and Dupree (2006)

220px-dupreeposter

20% – 4.35/10 (166 reviews)

A rather generic entry into the arrested development subgenre, with themes borrowed from other more successful and funnier films. Dupree wears out its welcome.
